Here’s a bit of my story, cut short….

Five years ago I had to stop work because I was ill.  Really ill.  I’ll let you imagine the details, but I had months where I couldn’t even get out of bed let alone leave the house.  I was on loads of medication – steroids, hormones, painkillers to name but a few.   I went a bit doo lally tap.  I needed major surgery but my heart defect had just been discovered so noone wanted to operate on me because of the risks.

It was at this point I decided I was going to change my life.

I’d endured enjoyed a career in the social work field, but I’d always wanted to study more and never had the opportunity until then.  I had a lot of time on my hands.  So I studied Social Policy and Criminology with the Open University.

Long story short I said didn’t I? Sorry. Short, here goes.

Started degree 2011.  Major surgery March 2013.   Decided I want to be a lawyer to fight for social justice 2014. Started working part-time for my church as pastoral and community worker January 2015.  Graduated the degree with first class honours September 2015. Started graduate diploma in law (part-time) October 2015.

So this blog is basically a load of wholehearted rants about changing my life and fixing my heart.

I hope you enjoy it.  I hope it helps someone other than just me.

Please let me know.
